PURE (Express Review)

I started playing the PC version of PURE last night, and to my surprise the game was quite fun and packed with beautiful graphics. Even the installation space needed is just 4.9GB. Not too shabby for a New-Gen game. I don’t have much experience playing ATV-based games. But when i played PURE for the first time, it felt good but not anything near awesome. Why? because my high spirits were hampered by the SLOW LOADING (Over 48 seconds) before i even start a race. That’s really a bad early impression. Thank god the Easy to Adapt gameplay and beautiful graphics saved my mood. Read the rest of this entry »

Another weekend making Acar Buah

Selling Acar Buah has been sort of family business since i was little. Though at the time when i was still schooling, my parents would only take order requests for Wedding events. Since i;m a big boy now.. and my parents are on their way for retirement. We decided to test the market by selling a small portion of the Acar Buah in several stores owned by my mother’s friend. The Acar is sold in 2 different packages, the first in sold in a small tupperware with the price of RM4.50 and the other bigger bottle (700 grams) priced at RM12. Usually, the bigger bottle would only be sold at RM10, but since we’re renting a place from somebody else’s store.. we just had to add an RM2 Commision for the seller.

Alternatively, you can simply request an order directly from me and we’ll sell it only at RM10. Good ol’ pricetag. Just as some of you may know, Acar is commonly served as a condiment to be eaten with a main course such as Rice. However, my family’s version of Acar is somewhat different than what is mentioned in the wikipedia link up there. It’s called Acar Buah for a reason, imagine Dried Food and Lemon dipped within massive Curry. It tastes Sweet, Sour and yet also Spicy. The best part is, this type of Acar can be stored up to 3 months.

The Skull Man (Review)

Allright, allright.. i get it! Stalled a couple of Emulator & Game news to continue with Anime reviews. It’s funny though how i actually managed to live without watching anime for several days already. Maybe that proves i’m not at a dangerous level. =))

Today’s review is gonna be “The Skull Man”. An early masterpiece of the late Shotaro Ishinomori, Creator to world-level popular “Kamen Rider”, AstroBoy, Cyborg 009 and some other anime/manga/live-action series. It’s also recognized as the Prototype idea for Kamen Rider.

It took me 2 days to fully concentrate on watching this short series. The Skull Man is indeed NOT an average action show which focuses directly on the actions of the main hero like most typical shows do. In Fact, the story was narrated by the investigation experience of Mikogami Hayato whom will soon enough become the skullman himself.

Mystery & Mild Horror is the main element to this series, starting with what little information he has. Hayato plunged himself straight to the depths of his Independent Hometown. He is in pursue of the skullman which he heard was behind the massive murder in the Night time of Ootomo City. His investigations lead him to a dark religious organization called “Byakureikai” which is secretly controlling the city within the shadows. That is, with the help of a young female photographer “Kiroko Mamiya” whom is searching for his long-lost brother.

Ootomo City may look peaceful at daylight, but as it enters the night. Seemingly grotesque creatures starts to lurk within the town. Due to that, the towns mayor have enforced a rule that Nobody is allowed to walk outside their home at night.

They then found out that all of skullman’s murder victims were members of the Byakureikai Cult. On their way investigating, they befriended an old detective by the name “Kyoichiro Tachigi” who ended up giving them hints along the way. The old man is actually a spy sent by the Japanese Military to infiltrate the town and gather some classified information.

Hayato stops by to a familiar church and stumbles upon his old friend “Kanzaki Yoshio” who’s a Father of the church which is also the house to several orphaned childs.
