A valuable artifact known as the “King’s Seal” is stolen by a mysterious group of people during transport in Soul Society. Hitsugaya Toushiro, the 10th division captain of Gotei 13, who is assigned to transport the seal fights the leader of the group and goes missing shortly after. After the incident, Seireitei declares Hitsugaya as a traitor and orders his capture. Ichigo refuses to believe this, and along with many other shinigami’s swear to uncover the real mastermind of the stolen seal, find Hitsugaya and clear his name. Meanwhile, a rogue Hitsugaya search for the perpetrators and uncovers a dark secret regarding a long dead shinigami.
The mysterious individual is later revealed as his longtime friend Kusaka Soujirou, who was killed in the past when the Central Court 46 decides there should be only one person who carries the Zanpakutou Soul “Hyourinmaru”. Due to that hatred reasoning, Kusaka bears a grudge towards the Seireitei and all of Soul Society. It is then that earlier in the movie he decided to stole the “King’s Seal” which is known to have always been moved from one place to another in every few decades.
It was told that Kusaka was reborned as a Hollow in Hueco Mundo and later restores his body back to that of a Shinigami when he stole the King’s Seal. The King’s Seal which is a treasure of the Royal Family is able to manipulate Object, Time & Space within the area of it’s effect.
Hitsugaya felt guilt for his longtime friend and thinks that he needs to end this all by himself even though later could be executed for being accused as the one who stole the King’s Seal in Kusaka’s place. Little did he knew that Kusaka wants him to join obliterating soul society itself with the power he obtained from the King’s Seal.
This finally leads them and almost all of the other characters to the ultimate battle to save not just soul society but the whole realm before it is devoured by the King’s Seal which is Kusaka’s control.
I’m sure many people could understand this movie better than the previous one. Because the plot this time is quite directly told with a few mysteries to unfold as you watch the flashbacks. Bleach Movie 2 is also slightly more animated & beautiful compared to the first. It is also well scripted with action that almost no characters are left out. With so much characters packed in a movie, there can only be too short of a time for each of them to “perform” and that may be the only dissatisfaction with this installment.
And yes, there’s something for all to learn within this movie.. although it’s something quite obvious, it indirectly tells you not to handle all your problems by yourself and to trust your friends & family in what ways they can help. Realize that by keeping the sadness all by your own could lead to the unhappyness of other individuals around you, especially the ones who care for you.
Due to this being the “2007” theatre edition of Bleach, it’s also a good thing that you watch this in a past manner. What i’m trying to say is, you’re bound to be a little bit un-surprised to know that some of the surprise in this movie is already known within the previous episode of the tv series. Imagine what you could have felt if you’re watching this in 2007 instead. Only Then that you are fully entitled to give your opinions.
