Valve proves to their fans that L4D2 is indeed a game worth moving from the original title. L4D2 is bigger and packed with everything more than it’s predecessor. It’s characters may not be the best attraction to seasoned L4D players, but it’s functions are certainly worth the transition. About valves promise to not desert the previous L4D, we have to wait & see if there will be more contents for it after L4D2 release.
Just around 12:30 noon today, i’ve received my long-awaited Street Fighter 20th Anniversary Artbook. It took a week for the item to arrive since my middleman (morgan) said the seller posted this last saturday. Perhaps the delay was due to malaysia’s custom check? i dunno.
This 320 Page book covers a massive collection of Capcom’s Street Fighter artwork ranging from the oldest to latest ones drawn by various illustrators including the recently-moved Shinkirou from SNK. Meaning, anything that has to do with SF is inside the book.. both originals & crossovers (all except xmen vs series). The book is priced around 64.99usd to 58.90usd atm but it’s worth it if you’re a fan of the series. The paper quality suits best with it’s price, it’s quite thick and is glossy (dunno what type of paper is it anyway).
I am not a hardcore fan of street fighter, but i’ve played it since the NES years of Street Fighter II Turbo when i was about 6 years old back then. So the art really push me back to those years when fighting games are talk of the town. 😀 If you haven’t purchased capcom artbooks before, then this should be the best choice since it contains all artworks that were released on the previous books plus newer ones.

As you can see, it’s not that hard to reach the bronze record of 4 minutes survival. But to reach the silver 7th minute? You’re a lucky man to have a random reliable team. Let’s not talk about 10 minutes to gold record until you’ve passed at least silver. My first impression of this survival pack is composed of one word: CRAZY. This survival mode will change the way you think about cpu zombies for good. Take a look at the hunter for example, it dares to pounce you even when you’re so near to your buddies. Which will only cause them to step aside from the impact. It’s feels like how you were pushed back as a zombie. A single smoker in versus mode may not cause you too much problem. But how about 2 simultaneos smokers in survival mode? Can you handle that amidst all the raging cpu zombies? Best of Luck until the tank comes… Come to think of it, it’s not just the special infected that’s more than 1, even the tanks can spawn for 2 or 3 simultaneosly.
The long awaited Square-Enix PC comeback title has arrived. It came a bit late in Malaysia & Singapore. Today was the fastest i could manage. I was a bit unwilling at first since the copy i bought was imported from europe instead of australia. What does this mean? It means higher price. RM179 (37 Euro/49 USD) is a bit steep in my opinion. But it was okay since this a depthed game with lots of places to dig in. TLR comes in 2 DVD’s and the manuals are in full colour. Continue reading “The Last Remnant (PC) [Express Review]”
It’s very rare to hear or see Russian Developers make an anstounding videogame. But Kings Bounty: The Legend will change that perception. In Fact, it is evidently better than popular games of the similar genre. At a glance, Kings Bounty looks A LOT like 4th Heroes of Might & Magic series. However, this game contains more depth than it’s outer looks. Although the game does not have building creation features, most of the other functions in this game will suck you deep inside the adventure.
The plot seems rather usual for a mythical adventure. But it has nice blend of modern influence especially when you’re talking to Lina the Ice Spirit, one of the weapons inside the Chest of Rage. The chest utilizes the hero’s anger in order to summon various weapon spirits to assist battle.
The graphics in KBTL is a very nice mix of 2D and 3D interface. Most of the Menu and character portraits are done in 2D in order to give a middle-age feeling to the game’s character as this is a game based on mythical legends. It just wouldn’t feel right if the portraits are done in 3D because it doesn’t have that cloudy mystical classic feel to it. Well, maybe it can be realised in a full featured CGI animation. But that’s just too costly. The rest however, is done in rich animated 3D graphics as most other games are made today.
I really am lost of words to praise the game. It’s like this is everything a HoMM Fan would love. Except the part where you couldn’t create buildings and gather resources. Another thing to note is that it doesn’t have neither LAN or Online mode. That wraps up my shortest game review ever. KBTL is priced at RM139. As Promised, an express review as soon as my copy of the Brand New Prince of Persia arrived. Priced at RM149, the new PoP presents a brand new adventure unrelated to previous series. Thus, making it a good to try title for newcomers. The version i bought is imported from Australia by NewEra, it’s RM30.00 cheaper compared to the US version (the exact same thing). I was also told that there is an Exclusive Edition of the game at play.com. Continue reading “Prince of Persia (PC) [Express Review]”
